New York City’s Premiere Premodern Tournament Series

    When: September 16, 2023. Doors open at 11:15AM ET with a start time of 12:00PM ET

    Where: Bifrost Games, 121 E. 27th St., New York, NY 10016

    Player Capacity: 44

    Current Attendees: Event has concluded.

    Entry Fee: $60. All entry fees are being paid out to players, the judge, and the gracious venue. Supplemental prizing provided by organizers.

    Registration: Event has concluded.

    Payment: Please send to Phil Nguyen via PayPal, instructions in the registration form. Payment is not required upfront to join the Waitlist.

    Cancellation: Full refund for cancellations made a week in advance of the event. Your slot can be transferable if within a week before the event.

    Spectators: Due to space constraints we kindly ask for no spectators

  • Tournament Structure

    Format: Premodern

    Rounds: 5 rounds with <33 players, 6 rounds with 33-44 players; Swiss pairings followed by Top 8. 50-minute timed rounds.

    Rules Enforcement: Competitive; judge will be on site

    Card Legality: Reprints, World Championship/Gold-Bordered, and CE/IE cards are allowed. Proxies and playtest cards are not allowed at this event.

    Deck Lists & Photos: You must submit your deck list before the event begins. We highly suggest submitting online via a Google Form that will be sent out the week of the tournament, but we will have paper forms available onsite as well. Deck photos can be submitted via the Google Form and are encouraged!

  • Prizing

    Prizing: $1,500 cash guaranteed, distributed as follows
    1st: $540 and custom deck list card plaque
    2nd: $300
    3rd/4th: $150 each
    5th-8th: $90 each

    Participation Prizes: Commemorative stamped Red Elemental Blast, double-sided Soldier/Angel token, and stickers of Premodern staples

    Door Prizes: Randomly distributed consisting of cards and memorabilia, including an altered Birds of Paradise commissioned just for this event!
